Instructional Strategies.Showbie connects with so many other classroom apps, so it can easily integrate into classroom curriculum and instructional strategies. The tools within Showbie itself make it easy to use with everyday instructional strategies.
Think-Pair-ShareStudents can record content from Think-Pair-Share activities in their document tool. Students can write their ideas first, work with a group member and record additional ideas, and then use that content to discuss with a small group or whole class.
Annotation Strategies
Teachers can help students with their metacognitive thinking skills by teaching and reinforcing annotation skills. Teachers can take a picture of any work they wish to annotate, project that work onto a smart board, and then go through the process of annotating the text with the class. The class can then annotate their own work or work in pairs to annotate each other’s work.
Formative Assessment StrategiesStudents can also take regular formative assessments like quizzes, short-answer questions, or worksheets to assess knowledge and growth.
Collaborative Strategic ReadingCollaborative Strategic Reading would also work well with Showbie document reader tools. Students can work individually and then in groups to identify the steps of CSR: preview, click and clunk, get the gist, and wrap up.
